| With it's journey over Tehachapi almost complete, Amtrak 14 leans into the curve at Sandcut as it climbs onto the floor of the San Joaquin Valley while passing a row of original railroad code lines poles still standing despite their age. Today's detour of 11 and 14 via the Central Valley and Tehachapi comes following a 36-hour work window for Union Pacific maintenance of way crews as they speed to replace bridge spans just north of Ventura. |
