Veteran MBTA locomotive 904 delivers twelve branch new MASSDOT maintenance of way hoppers to Boston Engine Terminal in Somerville, MA. This past spring, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MASSDOT) purchased a couple dozen brand new ballast hoppers that have a solar-powered remote control unit. These will be used throughout the MBTA commuter rail system as lines are upgraded and repaired.
