| Remarks & Notes  |
| Zimbabwe has long been known as the land of the Beyer-Garratt steam locomotives and it is the last country to still use these articulated locomotives for revenue service. On this day, NRZ Class 15A Garratt #414 does the honors hauling a freight train towards Victoria Falls. This 4-6-4+4-6-4 Garratt is a massive machine, over 90 feet long and weighing almost 200 tons. These giants once hauled freight and passenger trains for decades, but now #414 works the occasional photo freight and shunting work in Bulawayo. |
