Just a little before noon on this dreary wet morning history had just been made as both active unit on the G&W-Chattooga & Chickamauga Railway roster pull to a safe stop on the NS controlled Central Of Georgia CR&S right of way at East 37th St. (MP CofG-446.0 37th St.). CCKY 702 pulled 72 empty Georgia Power Coal Hoppers out of storage at Berryton, GA and pull the train up to Chattanooga to the Alton Park Turn could take the train off of Chattooga & Chickamauga Railway hands. With wet rails and a lot of tonnage behind both first generation hood unit at a combine power output of 3,250HP took on the steep Missionary Ridge grade on its final hurdle on the right of way to Chattanooga.
