On almost all of Long Island's many, many trains, "Change at Jamaica" is the phrase uttered repeatedly by conductors as they make their way through the cars collecting tickets. The suburb of Jamaica, in New York City's Queens borough (and near JFK Airport), is where the LI's various lines coalesce and passengers change from one train to another to continue their journeys. On January 25, 2017, an electric MU train departs the station and, in the process, crosses over the line to Long Beach.
