Skiers are ready to hit the slopes at Winter Park Resort as the first “new” Ski Train unloads onto the recently-constructed heated platforms in minus 18°F degree temperatures at Winter Park, Colorado, on January 7, 2017. The train is led by GE P42DC No. 196 and includes three Superliner cars and cab car No. 406 specially-wrapped for the service by sponsor CenturyLink.
The GE Genesis series are well known for being Amtrak's locomotive. With confirmation of retirement from Amtrak themselves, their time is limited. Now is your chance to catch them before the chargers arrive!
