| Still wearing the same paint scheme as when it rolled out of EMD’s LaGrange factory a quarter-century before, Lehigh Valley SW8 253 stands at the engine terminal in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The LV had twenty-eight SW8’s, eighteen of which were equipped with dynamic brakes for use on the Hazleton branch. Number 253 is one of the ten that did not receive this option. |
