On October 27, 2016, Texas Gonzales & Northern Railway SD40 132 is seen just outside the railroad’s enginehouse in Harwood, Texas. Built by EMD's Canadian subsidiary GMD in May 1971 as Canadian National 5192, this engine was sold to Alstom Canada Transport, which rebuilt it into an "SD40-3" and numbered it GCFX 6053. Alstom later sold this engine to Wisconsin Central, which numbered it 6923. Much of this heritage is evident in the many patches worn by this engine (including the GCFX paint scheme and the CN logo), but it won't last much longer as the TXGN's fleet of GMD SD40s is due to get repainted into a new TXGN scheme in 2017. Photographed on railroad property with permission and full PPE.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
