Furka on 2163 meter a.s.l. is the highest station of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (Steam railway Furka mountain line). The cogwheel locomotive HG 3/4 # 4 of the former Furka-Oberalp Bahn (FO) is turned on the 8,8 meter diameter turntable for the return trip down to Realp. On the left is "Elch" (moose) diesel locomotive Gm 4/4 # 71, built by Jung in Germany in 1966 for the lime works Virkkala in Finland, came to the Furka-Oberalp Bahn in 1980 for shunting duties in Oberwald and for the construction works for the Furka Base Tunnel Oberwald-Realp. Running for the DFB since 2014.
