Sitting forlornly outside Amtrak's Beech Grove Shops is P42DC 66, damaged in a wreck involving a semi truck on February 19, 2016. This engine, wearing the carrier's "phase II" scheme and 40th Anniversary logo, is still awaiting repairs when photographed on July 9, 2016. Little seems to have been done to this engine in the past five months, and rumor has it that it may be scrapped due to a cracked frame.
