PRR #460 (engineer's side) is seen here back in March of 2013 in the process of cosmetic restoration in the Museum's back shop. I was told during this tour that, though cosmetic, no shortcuts were taken. In other words, though unlikely, if the engine was ever chosen for restoration to operation, the cosmetic work was fully spec and functional. Preparations for restoration began on March 17, 2010. On January 10, 2011, PRR #460 was moved to the museum's restoration shop for what was expected to be a two- to three-year project, estimated to cost $350,000.
