Remarks & Notes |
The famous Western Auto sign was placed atop this building in 1952 which served as that company's headquarters for many years. This 58 foot tall neon sign and has watched trains like the Q-NYCLAC glide through the Union Station tracks for over 63 years and will contribute to do so since being placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Even though Western Auto folded in 2003, this sign has remained in place and the building has been transformed into lofts which have been occupied since 2004. |
