| The Juniata Shops in Altoona Pennsylvania is known for heavy repairs and overhauls. One of such projects is the re-cabbing of former Southern high hooded locomotives with short hood "Admiral Cabs." Of course, the project takes lots of time and produces a lot of scrap metal in the form of cabs and noses. Here, five Southern high hoods and three cabs are stacked awaiting to be hauled off site for eventual scrapping. |
