In a strange quirk of fate, CNW 8646, one of the two famed "CNW Twins," the last two CNW units in original, unpatched paint, managed to find its way onto it's longtime rival's tracks, the BNSF, formerly Burlington Northern and Burlington Route prior to that.
Here, 8646 passes by the CB&Q/BN-vintage searchlight signals on the west end of the siding in Big Rock, IL. With BNSF replacing searchlights up and down the Aurora Sub, it's only a matter of time for these classic signals.
