Remarks & Notes
NS T21, the "K&A Local" is seen crossing the Tennessee River returning to downtown after performing it's work south of Knoxville. T21 is a turn that runs from Sevier Yard to the Maryville/Alcoa area and back. It services several industries along that route, including the Co-Op in Rockford, and the Alcoa Plant. These rails run through the 1982 World's Fair Site, and run past the famed L&N Depot near downtown that still stands. This line was purchased back in the late 1800s by the Knoxville and Augusta railroad, which would eventually end up being absorbed into the Southern, and subsequently, NS. Somehow, the K&A name has held on all these years, and is still used by NS to this day. In fact, the point where these rails join back up with the NS West End District at downtown is called "K&A Junction" by NS.
