Late in the evening of March 18, Pan Am Southern train BFED-18 (Bellows Falls, VT to East Deerfield, MA) is seen departing Vermont Rail System's Green Mountain Railroad Riverside Yard in Rockingham, Vermont. The BFED-18 is led by the Pan Am Railway's heritage GP9 duo - ST 77 and 52 (Boston & Maine and Maine Central paint schemes) as they pass the Bellows Falls switcher power for VRS - VTR GP40 301. Interestingly, these three paint schemes all existed 50 years ago and are seen mingling in this night photo.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
