Former Longview, Portland & Northern Railway #680 blasts out of the east portal of Tunnel #4, also known as "The Yellow Jacket Tunnel", with a freight bound for Virginia City, NV. This engine was built in Philadelphia in 1916 by Baldwin for the Louisiana & Pacific Railway Company Co. at Longville, LA as No. 252. Shortly there after, it was transferred to the LP&N (in Washington state) in 1922 where it spent most of it career before being acquired in 1977 by Robert Gray for the "new V&T". The engine was a good match for the new V&T as it nicely resembles the look of original V&T engines such as 4-6-0 #27, as seen here for comparison in a photo by Kevin Madore.
