| Santa Fe returns to Union Station: Amtrak 3 (westbound Southwest Chief) developed locomotive issues east of Albuquerque, NM yesterday and required the addition of a freight unit. Luckily, one of the yard engines BNSF assigns there was chosen, and it happened to be an SD40-2 still in ATSF paint. Here they are after their arrival at Los Angeles Union Station. The Metro building can be seen prominently in the background. |
