"Russel Plow Crossing the Oakland Viaduct"
After a snow storm dropped significant amounts of snow in the Northern New Jersey/New York region the NYS&W saw fit to send out the Russel Snow Plow. The crew was called to work the morning of Valentine's Day and spent the day in its entirety plowing the main with NYS&W 91 and NS 5294. This move requires both a mechanic and conductor in the plow, the mechanic as the operator and the conductor so they have contact with the engineer. The plow train is seen here crossing the Oakland Viaduct in brilliant sunlight. |
