| The iconic Battersea Power Station in London is currently undergoing a major redevelopment project to create new residential accommodation, which will see over 800 new homes and leisure facilities constructed in and around the Grade II listed building. At present, work is being undertaken to dismantle the four white chimneys in order for them to be replaced by four more constructed from modern materials. With the power station missing one of its chimneys and providing an unusual backdrop, West Coast Railway Company class 47 no. 47760 accelerates up the gradient into Wandsworth Road station with 1Z22 06:10 Doncaster to Canterbury West 'Spirit of the Lakes' charter train. WCRC class 47 no.47854 was attached to the rear. |
