| My 1,000th photo on the RP database and a blast from the past. On a Saturday afternoon in October 1980, class 47 no. 47 555 The Commonwealth Spirit passes the signal box and enters Chester station with a British Rail service from Holyhead to London Euston. Such services have been operated by the awful Virgin Voyagers for some years now. Many of us hanker for the old days when you could catch a proper train! |
