A very sad day in France

As my friend Jean-Marc Frybourg is posting pictures of today's 140-C-38 in tourist service, I think it appropriate to show this engine in not so good condition, on the last day of main line steam service in France. It was between Gray and Chalindrey in the Eastern part of France, by a cloudy rainy November day, 39 years ago.
