Remarks & Notes |
An afternoon NJ transit train pushes north onto the Raritan River Drawbridge past the obsolete coal-powered E. H. Werner Power Station built in 1929. Power is now produced from the blue generators and white fuel tanks. Demolition on the old power station recently began, and the entire western portion of the building has been torn down and removed. This prominent structure is an icon of the Amboys and will soon be retired to the history books. Click here to see how the old E. H. Werner Power Station looked prior to the start of demolition. |
