| Only a few days after the return from a large overhaul in Meiningen, the 2-10-2 steamlocomotive 99 749 is leaving Bertsdorf with the train from Zittau to Oybin. The 750 mm gauge locomotive was built in 1929 by Berliner Maschinenbau-Aktiengesellschaft, vormals L. Schwartzkopff for the ZOJE (Zittau-Oybin-Jonsdorfer Eisenbahngesellschaft) and is now owned and operated by Sächsisch-Oberlausitzer Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH (SOEG). The 16 km long railway was openend in 1890 and is still operated with steam locomotives as a mainly tourist railway. |
