Remarks & Notes |
A GP38 assigned to Opelika works its local train as a lone SD9 flying green section following flags heads west on the main. By 1972, Southern's six SD9s and lone SD7 (all inherited from C of G) were generally in captive service in Atlanta and Birmingham. It was also odd to see a road train with a single unit on the Birmingham-Columbus main in those days. |
