Remarks & Notes
The first of the 8ft singles designed by Patrick Stirling for the Great Northern Railway was restored to working order for a short period in 1982 and is seen with a Loughborough to Rothley train on the Great Central Railway. It was the first locomotive built at the GNR's Doncaster works in 1870 and was withdrawn from normal service in 1907.
