STOP-Obstruction Ahead That's what the sign the NS supervisors are carrying away said. To test the crew of the southbound TVA coal train to see if they followed the speed restriction, the supervisors placed the sign on their track. If the crew could stop their train within 50 carlengths of seeing the sign, which they did (they are stopped in the photo) then they passed. Here, the supervisors are carrying away the sign before a rolling meet between the coal train and a northbound autorack.
