A Rheintal Express service (connecting St. Gallen with Chur every hour) is quickly approaching Sargans at close to 140 km/h, trailed by a cloud of snow dust. The days of the locomotive hauled trains on this line are numbered; they will soon be replaced by Stadler KISS double-deck EMUs.
