| A phrase among some Chicagoland railfans is "The Herder," which is a multi-locomotive relocation from one yard to another. A prime example of CSX's Herder is seen here where a consist of 7 locomotives representing both Seaboard and Chessie lineage are on their way to nearby Barr Yard. Tom Golden photo. |
