Los Angeles MTA P865 161 (built by Sumitomo/Nippon Sharyo in 1994) heads down Flower Street, southbound out of Los Angeles on the oldest of the MTA's light rail lines, the Blue Line (from downtown L.A. to downtown Long Beach). The downtown section of this line is now also the eastern end of the MTA's newest line, the Expo Line (operating between downtown L.A. and Culver City). Slowly, but surely, rail transit is making a comeback in heavily congested Los Angeles!
