Insignificance. North-and-southbound Alaska Railroad passenger trains meet along the banks of the Turnagain Arm as the majestic peaks of the Chugach Mountain range tower imposingly in the background. The southbound train (closer to the foreground) is the daily Glacier Discovery Train, which is headed toward its station stop at the port city of Whittier, while the northbound is full of cruise ship passengers headed from Whittier to the Anchorage International Airport.
