| With the dynamic brakes howling, UP 1995 and 8714 (rear DPU out of view) ease a lengthy ILBOA-29 into Caliente. UP 1995 has just passed through "downtown" Caliente and is heading for the Caliente creek narrows which separate Caliente from Ilmon and Bena. Few places match the rough mountain railroad drama as Tehachapi, with its many horse-shoe curves and amazing scenes it is easy to see why this pass is thought of as the 7th wonder of the railroad world. |
