| On the last Saturday evening of the Los Angeles County Fair, we see 4014's cab lit up brightly for visitors to get a glimpse of the massive backhead. 4014 was deemed in the best condition of the 8 surviving Big Boy's and was chosen by Union Pacific to restore and left the museum in January 2014. It's amazing to think of all the hours I spent in the engineer's seat talking to people about this massive engine and having no idea that a real engineer would be sitting there with it once again on a mainline before 2020. |
