Remarks & Notes |
Chattahoochee Valley Beginning operations in 1897, this small connecting line was built by the West Point Manufacturing Company to help serve the numerous textile mills along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in both Georgia and Alabama while also providing a valuable connection to the West Point Route. Although it ceased operations in 1992, the legacy of this railroad still exists today as seen by the caboose that stands guard near the depot in West Point, GA. |
