A southbound UP train passes Canyon siding on the former SP as an eastbound BNSF rounds Sullivan's Curve. Heading downgrade on this part of Cajon Pass was considered to be railroad eastbound by the SP, so in former days both trains would have been called eastbounds by their respective owners although going in opposite directions.
