Remarks & Notes |
The southbound Seaboard System "Hopewell Switcher" was passing through downtown Richmond, VA on March 21, 1987 with two GP40s and a GP38-2. The "Hopewell Switcher" was a turnaround job that operated from Acca yard to Hopewell and return. The track is the former SAL main line and the front of Main Street Station can be seen in the lower right. The bridges looming overhead are for I-95 and the connection to the Downtown Expressway. The building is the background is the James Monroe Building and houses several state agencies. |
