Remarks & Notes
On the very last day of this section of line, train 3669 from Lucerne to Engelberg, with cab car ABt 928 and railcar BDeh 4/4 2 on the rear, is passing Reinerts. On this evening, the line was closed and on december 12th the new 4 kilometre long Engelberg tunnel will replace this stretch, which had a extreme steep 24.6 % rack section above Obermatt. The track of the former Stansstad-Engelberg Railway was opened in 1898 and electrified since beginning with triphase 750 V. In 1964 it was converted to 15000 V AC 16,7 Hz and the line was prolonged to Lucerne. Since 2005 the former Luzern-Stans-Engelberg Bahn (LSE) belongs to Zentralbahn (ZB).
