Remarks & Notes |
A Metrolink train to Moorpark heads under the Lemona Avenue pedestrian bridge. The lead unit is one of Metrolink's original F59PHs, but it has been rebuilt recently by Motive Power Industries in Boise. It was upgraded to Tier 2 emissions compliance by installing an EMD unit-exchange 12 cylinder 710G3B-T2 EFI engine. New 600-kilowatt head-end power is provided by a Caterpillar C27 T2 engine. It also now has "crash-worthy" fuel tanks. Even though this is major rebuild, including external body modifications, the units are not receiving a new designation.
