| The San Juan to Mendoza section of train number 566 "El Aconcagua" enters General San MartÃn Railroad's Mendoza Station with ALCo.-MLW RSD35 # 6439 for power. At Mendoza this 5-coach+baggage consist will join the Mendoza to Buenos Aires section to make a 15-car train. Dual-gauge track in the foreground was formerly used by meter-gauge trains of the General Belgrano Railroad, whose passenger service over the Trasandino Railroad combined with General San Martin's trains at this station to reach the border town of Las Cuevas and offered international service through the Andes Range to Santiago de Chile, Capital City of the Chile Republic. |
