| One of a kind. First and only passenger train through the central Adirondacks since the original 1980 Olympic venture failed. Adirondacks - literally no development in this view. Approximately 100 passengers rode the train from Thendara to Lake Placid as the quipment was getting transported over marginal track north for the beginning of the Lake Placid operation. Even rarer, this photograph was recorded from a railroad sponsored float plane, offering this fan an opportunity to record this train. Sadly, railroad still can not repair these rails. |
