On the 12th of august 2010, the last leg of the Furka mountain line (Furka Bergstrecke), from Gletsch to Oberwald, was inaugurated, after 27 years hard work of volunteers, donators and stockholders. The official first train just left Realp in the morning to run over Furka pass to Gletsch and finally reach Oberwald at noon, on board about 160 "pioneers" from the beginning of this reopening of the line.
