The B&O Tom Thumb Replica: Designed in 1830, this engine successfully won the B&O Railroad over to steam. Prior to that, the railroad's horsepower was just that... horse powered. The original is no longer but this replica of the first American built steam locomotive used on a common carrier survives as built in 1892 at the B&O Railroad Museum. |
