Before the American Freedom Train began its two year tour, an advance train named the Preamble Express toured the country to drum-up attention and do preliminary ground work for the main attraction. D&H 2312 in her special paint scheme backs the PE into La Salle Street Station in the late afternoon. The U-boat would be later replaced with a Union Pacific E unit.
