| A day after New Year's in 1986 found one of the SCL Uceta GP16 rebuilds at the platforms in West Palm Beach. Note the track gang house still there at the time. Hard to believe that sort of thing still felt fairly normal then. We are at the northern end of the platforms, looking west. The GP16 was built in Feb 1957 as Cheicago & Eastern Illinois GP9 #236. It went to the Louisville & Nashville before being sent to Uceta to be rebuilt for Seaboard Coast Line in August of 1982. It survived to CSX and was sold to Pioneer in 1993. |
