| NN's 1909 Alco pulls south toward end of track ass it squeezes between a big cottonwood on one side an the NN's old sandstone warehouse on the other. Rising above and beyond to the east can be seen the landmark water tower and concrete coal tipple. The trackage on which she strides was once the original NN mainline into downtown Ely. Long since abandoned in favor of the ore line bypass around town this stub is intact only about a half mile behind the photographer. |
