Remarks & Notes

UP broke up the pool of SD40T-2's based in Helper, UT, early in 2001, allowing some of the units to break free from the helper fleet. Several ended up leading trains on the old Rio Grande. Like a dream come true, here are 5401 and 5341 climbing towards the summit of Thompson Hill with the daily Roper-Denver manifest.
