This picture was taken in the SNCF "rotonde de Chambéry", it can park until 72 engines. constructed in 1906, it is the biggest in France. In 1984, the SNCF wanted to destroy it but the citiy of Chambéry was opposed to the destrcution of this historical builing. La rotonde was classified "historical monument" and the SNCF nowadays is repairing it. Height : 34,20 mètres Height of dome : 27 mètres diameter of dome : 55 mètres total diameter : 110mètres 18 pillars 900 tonnes ( scuze for my bad English, but i can't place this photo in rail picture without explanations ... )
