Remarks & Notes
The Richmond, Fredricksburg & Potomac joined forces with the Atlantic Coast Line to build this grand "Union Station" to the west of downtown Richmond in 1917. Amtrak continued to use it until November 15, 1975, when they left for an Amshack at Staples Mill Road. It has since been turned into the Science Museum of Virginia. The two founding railroads' names are etched in the edifice atop the portico.
