| The Rhätische Bahn have an ingenious way of dealing with the differnce in gauge with the SBB system where most of the inbound freight originates (1000mm against standard gauge). SBB cars simply take a piggy-back ride on specially-made narrow gauge flat cars, otherwise freight has to be re-loaded from car to car or, in the case of intermodal traffic, containers can be interchanged as normal. |
