Remarks & Notes |
Ambarawa Railway Museum's E1060 was the last main line steam locomotive built in Germany, being outshopped by Esslingen in 1966. It has spent more years in retirement than it did in active service, and runs on the 18 km Ambarawa-Bedondo stretch, which includes a lengthy section of 6.5% grade using rack operation. Here the loco is on the more lightly graded section of line, attracting the local kids as it passes by on a charter train. |
